IT Technician II

POSITION SUMMARY: 
Intermediate end-user support, computer support and networking support skills are necessary. Experience in a customer facing IT or engineering related company is preferred.

 

Familiarity and prior usage of Windows operating systems, MS Office applications, networking, PC hardware, wireless technology management, basic wiring, Active Directory, Help Desk management software, video conferencing, web-based applications, desktop imaging, remote support, VOIP phone systems, Skype for Business, and Desktop firewalls. Experience with HP desktops and laptops is a plus.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Serve as the first point of contact for clients and internal employees seeking technical assistance over the phone, email, or through the ticketing system.
  • Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers. Record the issue, details, and their resolution. Follow-up and update customer status and information.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for nights and weekends.
  • Support ongoing Infrastructure projects as needed and troubleshoot issues escalated from other IT Technicians.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Associate degree, bachelor degree, or at least 1 IT Support Industry certifications.
  • Must work well in a group as well as alone and unsupervised.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with end users and department members.
  • Attention to detail and good time management is required to keep up with a high volume of support requests.
