IT Technician II (6 Month Contract)

Position Summary


This position is responsible for providing ongoing IT support to their assigned region. Intermediate end-user support, computer support and networking support skills are necessary. Experience in a customer facing IT or engineering related company is preferred. Familiarity and prior usage of Windows operating systems, MS Office applications, networking, PC hardware, wireless technology management, basic wiring, Active Directory, Help Desk management software, video conferencing, web-based applications, desktop imaging, remote support, VOIP phone systems, Skype for Business, and Desktop firewalls. Experience with HP desktops and laptops, Ubiquiti network equipment, and Specialized Manufacturing/Inventory Equipment is a plus.




  • Serve as the first point of contact for clients and internal employees seeking technical assistance over the phone, email, or through the ticketing system.
  • Troubleshooting and routine maintenance of regional network and server infrastructure devices when required.
  • Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers. Record the issue, details, and their resolution. Follow-up and update customer status and information, and update any necessary associated documentation.
  • Support ongoing Infrastructure projects as needed and troubleshoot issues escalated from other IT Technicians; Procurement of IT- and Communication equipment.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for nights and weekends.




  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Certificate, diploma or degree in IT, or at least 1 IT Support Industry certification.
  • Must work well in a group as well as alone and unsupervised. 
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with end users and department members. 
  • Attention to detail and good time management is required to keep up with a high volume of support requests.
  • Keep track of support licenses in Fresh Service.
  • Will need to post monthly invoices to accounts.
  • Create upcoming year forecast of IT equipment and services.
  • Manage inventory of laptops/desktops/mobile phones in Fresh Service.
  • Work with Infrastructure to support/troubleshoot Servers and Switches within the region.
  • Troubleshoot local applications with external application support team.
  • Manage purchasing of IT equipment and services.
