As a specialist division of Shawcor, Shawcor Inspection Systems design and manufacture customised Digital Radiography (DR) and Computed Tomography (CT) turnkey non-destructive test (NDT) solutions and equipment for blue chip organisations.


Established in Great Yarmouth for over 40 years we supply products and services to the aeronautical, space, oil & gas, material science, nuclear, global energy and military and defence industries.


We are currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to aid our product design.


What will the Mechanical Design Engineer do?


This role takes responsibility for the concept and detailed mechanical designs for our range of products including custom applications.


Do you have what we are looking for?


To succeed in the role you should ideally have the following attributes;


  • Experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in fabricated structures, machinery & handling systems
  • Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering 
  • Working knowledge of current, relevant Mechanical Design regulations and drawing standards
  • Capable of developing original concepts based on current state of the art technology
  • Experienced user of AutoDesk Inventor & Vault or similar CAD package
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with ability to professionally deal with all levels of colleagues and clients
  • Ability to pass government screening standards
