The role
We are currently recruiting molders for our Drummondville plant (250 Rocheleau Street, Drummondville, Quebec, J2C 6Z7). This is a permanent, full-time hour position. We hire for our 3rd shift, the days and hours of work are, Friday to Sunday 6:00am-6pm, with an 11% bonus to offer you the equivalent of 40 hours of pay per week. Reporting to the Production Manager, the molders are responsible for the production of tanks, ducts, pipes, special molds and related items for our storage tanks.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Operate machinery and equipment or use hand tools to cut, shape, splice and adjust fiberglass materials
- Follow established procedures to apply materials by hand and / or machine to produce components and products of standard and non-standard quality.
- Properly prepare the surface of the mold or tool with a non-stick film, wax and other mold release products
- Use and understand resin, glass, catalyst, mold release materials and related materials, and adaptations to changing weather conditions
- Cut parts to appropriate dimensions based on process sheets, established standards, drawings and verbal instructions
- Inspect laminate surfaces for defects, imperfections, foreign objects or other non-conformities, and correct as necessary
- Move parts and components to shipping, holding area, or other designated location after quality control inspection.
- Other related activities to support the production process
Qualifications
- High school diploma is preferred
- General relevant experience or previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferable
- Experience with a spray gun is an asset
- Ability to read and follow plans and drawings is an asset
- Good understanding of the French language, including verbal, written, and reading
- Ability to communicate effectively with others and work as part of a team
- Ability to learn new tools and equipment
- Good problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fiberglass environment
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, as required
- Ability to work flexible hours and work overtime
- Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting 20 to 50 lbs, bending, crouching, kneeling and standing for long periods
