Lake Superior Consulting is currently seeking a Sr. Project Manager to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA!

 

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary project team to execute Client work scopes and collaborating with LSC’s management team to ensure company goals are met. Projects typically include Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Structural Engineering while some projects may span across one or more business units.

 

Specific Responsibilities: 

  • Work with LSC’s Project Integration Team and associated Directors to assess opportunities, generate proposals and assemble project teams to successfully execute projects
  • Manage multiple projects using traditional project management practices to deliver the highest quality product on time and on budget while minimizing risk through the entire project lifecycle from prospect to closeout.
  • Develop business through networking and leveraging of existing client relationships in conjunction with the LSC business units
  • Able to interpret clients’ needs and appropriately define the scope of a project
  • Work with and coordinate project teams from multiple LSC office locations.
  • Execute technically challenging projects with the involvement of multiple disciplines
  • Provide formal training and Mentorship to Project Engineers and Project Managers
  • Provide project status updates and key metrics to LSC’s management team
  • Assist with the development of new Project Management processes and evaluation of existing processes
  • Support of and participation with internal initiatives

Requirements: 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
  • PMP certification or ability to pursue a license
  • Minimum of 10 ears of professional experience in Project Management or Management Roles
  • Working knowledge of project management concepts and tools, and demonstrated ability to apply these to consistently deliver a defined project scope on time and within budget
  • Enjoy working in a team environment, able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the organization
  • Proven ability to balance multiple/competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the project team and organization
  • Demonstrated ability to assess situations to determine the importance, urgency, and risks, and make clear decisions that are timely and in the best interests of the project team and organization
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to see the big picture while also being able to drill down into technical details
  • Strong communication skills and comfortable presenting to large groups
  • Strong experience establishing earned value plans and metrics
  • Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies, processes, markets
