The role of Canadian Project Coordinator is designated to assist the Sales team with the award of major projects, assure clean handovers from Sales to Operations, and to ensure flawless execution on customer projects while providing best in class customer service throughout the projects lifecycle from start to finish. The Project Coordinator will be accountable to certify that the commercial and technical elements of the project are in line with the tender, and that extra work or variations are in scope and properly accounted for and invoiced. Role will require effective liaison with customers, Finance, Accounting, Commercial, and Operations throughout the project execution. Upon project completion, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring proper internal and external close out. The role will also have responsibility to assist the Project Sales Manager on specific pre-award sales activities including preparing extensive bid packages, contract closure activities such as schedule development and technical clarifications, free issue materials management, logistics planning with the customer and subcontractor management.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of projects post-award, verification of contract and assigned PO's.
  • Liaison with customers/vendors in addition to Plant Management, Commercial, and Operations including but not limited to free issue materials, progress updates, and schedule/scope changes. 
  • Creating of bid packages, quotes and bid clarification. 
  • Clear communication with Operations and allocation for all project changes are documented and observed. 
  • Frequent follow up of Project status in addition to scheduling and schedule changes. 
  • Office based position with some travel and outside meetings with vendors required. 
  • This role will require a high level of demand and organization, requiring the ability to multitask and work on multiple projects simultaneously in a rapidly changing market with significant deadlines.

 

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Experience in Manufacturing/Industrial environment, specifically Line Pipe and Steel Manufacturing preferred. 

 

Additional Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Capable and proficient in presenting to small and large groups with clear intent of objectives including proposals and planning meetings. 
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers and vendors, in addition to meeting customer high demands to drive project initiatives that support the business. 
  • Authority to make challenging decisions in cooperation with the customer to meet scheduling and business needs. 
  • Drive initiatives for change and engagement of internal procedures. 
  • Knowledge of MS Operating systems including but not limited to Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint as well as SalesForce, IFS, and iLINE PipeTrak. 

 

This role will be based out of the Calgary Head Office.
